general impressions of Ireland, our goals for the summer, etc. She's going to be here all summer, too! We went to a concert at the docks and I drank my first ha'pint of Irish Guinness. Just FYI, people- that photo was taken at 9:20 at night. And yes, I know that's not Guinness. That's the Carlsberg that followed the Guinness. After the concert, we wandered around the streets and found all of these really fascinating and colorful shops, and when I had someone to talk to, that's when I really started to fall in love with this town. D & J- I also found that bar that only serves Guinness, that the one in New York is modeled after and took a picture of it. We wandered for a good few hours, and now I'm back at the hostel, chilling out and considering playing pool.
There is a sad note, though- my two Ultimate teams of the area have run into a snag. One disbanded last month because most of its players have moved to Dublin, where most of the Ultimate teams are, and the other is a school team that sends all of its players home for the summer. It's going to make it much more difficult to A) find people to play with and B) make friends. =(
Fear not! This obstacle in my path has just renewed my enthusiasm for this quest, and I will not stop until I have found Galwaynians (Galwayers?) to play Ultimate with.
Love,
Annie Mc
